About Your Hosts Adrian & Bev
Adrian was born & grew up in Dullingham until he joined
the RAF in 1975. After 19 years in the RAF (including 6 years with the
Red Arrows) he finally left and joined Virgin Atlantic flying 747's.
After 11 years on the "Jumbo" he converted to the A340 Airbus in 2005
which he still flies today! Bev is a part-time Social Worker. In 2001 he and Bev moved back to
Dullingham with their daughters to build their "dream house" where
you are now most welcome!
About The Firs
We built the house using a combination of conventional construction methods (brick & flint) and many "green" features such as rain-water recycling, a ground-source heat pump for all heating and hot water, whole-house ventilation etc. Potential or current self-builders may well find the house very interesting and Adrian is always happy to discuss his dream project! The house was featured in the June 2005 version of Home Building & Renovating magazine. It also has a dedicated chapter in the latest version of the The House Builder's Bible.
